Leoville Las Cases(1999)

Sweet vanillin with pure cassis, black cherries, lead pencil shavings. Elegant, medium-bodied, saturated purple color, high tannin, structured, backward feel in the mouth. Quintessentially elegant needs another 5-7 years to hit its plateau of maturity.

Full ruby-red. Captivating nose of roasted currant, cedar and minerals, with a floral lift; quite fresh for the year. Sweet, supple, dense and full, with no dip in the middle. This is impressively chewy and concentrated for a '99. Finishes long and flavorful, with sweet, building tannins.
