Enjoyed this on 11/1/08. Based on Parker's guidelines, 2004 was the outer limit...so I was a bit apprehensive. However, the wine is still fabulous. Great nose, not very flowery, but provocative and distinctive. Full on the palate, light tannins and easy drinking. Went well with the pork dish I had.

Dark as night. An absolutely explosive nose of ripe red and black fruits, licorice, coffee, cassis and pine boughs. Palate is gorgeously plush, rich, dense, long, and loaded with fruit. Tannin is smooth and ripe, finish lasts forever. A very flamboyant ye
Saturated purple color. Herbal and kirsch aromas on the nose. Copious black and blue fruits on entry, then flavors of licorice, graphite, and sweet oak on the back end. Dense with tannins, sporting flavors of licorice, blackberry and smoke that push to get through. Finishes tight, but glows with fruit and savory notes on the long aftertaste. Needs significant cellaring. Best after 2014. 2,980 cases made. -HS Wine Spectator. A Cabernet Sauvignon wine from Washington in USA. 2008 Leonetti Cellar Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml
Dense, aromatic, layered and rich, this wine explodes from the glass with scents and flavors of concentrated berries, cassis, black cherry, and more. Leonetti continues to hit the high marks for itself in this, the 25th vintage. The Walla Walla Cab includes 10% Merlot and small batches of Cab Franc and Carmenère. The astonishing, classic Leonetti aromas of penetrating ripe black fruits, cedar, coffee and chocolate are there in spades, but the overall impression is that the oak has been pulled back just a bit, or perhaps the fruit is just that much riper. Violets and lead pencil continue the stream of sensuous highlights, as the wine winds into its pungent, densely saturated finish.
A perennial on our Top 100 list for either its Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon, Leonetti is one of the top wineries in Washington. Winemaker Gary Figgins crafted this deep-pile, plush carpet of a velvety, with layer upon layer of juicy blackberry, prune, plum, spice and vanilla flavors that linger beautifully and get richer with each sip. The 1995 Merlot is also outstanding.
Deep ruby-red. Highly aromatic, floral aromas of black plum, cassis, mulberry, toffee, coffee and licorice. Round, lush and sweet on entry, then pliant and chewy in the middle, with captivating sweetness. Densely packed and structured yet light on its feet. A real essence of cabernet, and very long on the finish. This may well merit an even higher score with three or four more years of bottle aging.
Saturated dark ruby to the rim. The 2010 Cabernet has a tremendously pleasing nose of mixed berries, crème brulee, cassis, baking spices, and cinnamon. There is truly an exceptional purity to the nose that makes me close my eyes when I place my nose inside to focus on this chimera in a glass. The palate is tightly wound yet plush, having simply perfect balance and length. There is a lot of ripe tannin here, but not a rough edge to be found. After 5 days open, the wine continues to develop and display remarkable purity of fruit.
