Leonetti Cellar Sangiovese Walla Walla Valley 2003
Winemaker notes: This is our darkest Sangiovese to date – gorgeous, saturated magenta to the rim. The razor-precise fruit nose is loaded with bright, dense red fruits and high-tone floral notes. The wine is refreshing on the pallet with bright acidity, while providing rich crème cassis and other red fruit flavors and excellent length. Vineyards in this Wine: Mill Creek, Seven Hills and Pepper Bridge. 100% Walla Walla Valley Aging Profile: Aged in new French Puncheons and 30 hectoliter ovals for 14 months. Blending Detail: Sangiovese 78%, Syrah 22% Production: Seven Hundred and nineteen cases produced.
Each of our vineyard solis shape the wine that comes from it. This is the essence of terroir. The soil of Seven Hills at the south end of the Valley is Ellisford Silt Loam.
