The 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon's bouquet offers aromas of toasty oak and spice. The mouth-coating, explosive wine is crammed with a myriad of spices, jammy blackberries, sweet cherries, and cherry syrup-drenched fruitcake. This is a hedonist's delight, yet it has loads of tannin that provide a firm, tight, structured finish. Anticipated maturity: 2002-2011.
A ripe, round and graceful Washington Cabernet. A pretty wine that's generous with its plum and black currant flavors, swirling with jasmine, rose petal and vanilla flavors, and echoing fruit, spice and floral notes on the long, supple finish. Drink now through 2010.
The nose leaps out of the glass: fat, meaty and jammy, laden with ripe, seductive fruit. The palate impression is still young, firm and tight, with tart loganberry fruit that has a nice tang to it. It's all wrapped in big, toasty layers of oak, with coffee, bitter chocolate and licorice running through the long finish. This one needs more time to knit itself together and open up.
Ripe and supple, this spicy mouthful of black cherry, plum and tar flavors remains smooth and elegant through the harmonious finish, which is wrapped in a layer of spiciness. Drink not through 2005.
Rich, supple and fleshy, a lovely Cabernet that spills over with plum-scented berry and espresso flavors that linger enticingly on the rich, polished finish. The oak is present but not overwhelming. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Drink now through 2010.
Leonetti continues to hit the high marks for itself in this, the 25th vintage. The Walla Walla Cab includes 10% Merlot and small batches of Cab Franc and Carmenère. The astonishing, classic Leonetti aromas of penetrating ripe black fruits, cedar, coffee and chocolate are there in spades, but the overall impression is that the oak has been pulled back just a bit, or perhaps the fruit is just that much riper. Violets and lead pencil continue the stream of sensuous highlights, as the wine winds into its pungent, densely saturated finish.
Dense, aromatic, layered and rich, this wine explodes from the glass with scents and flavors of concentrated berries, cassis, black cherry, and more. The vines have reached a mature stage that amplifies the fruit and keeps the generous barrel flavors... Wine Enthusiast. A Cabernet Sauvignon wine from Washington in USA. 2008 Leonetti Cellar Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml
This wine is distinctively Walla Walla. The nose is an exotic array of spices, dried herbs, lavender, charcuterie, mocha, cassis, vanilla, and ripe red and black fruits. The wine has incredible density, with very ripe tannin that is suave on the palate. The finish is ultra long and pleasant. Cabernet Sauvignon 77%, Merlot 16%, Carmenere 4%, Malbec 3%.
