Leonetti Cabernet Sauvignon Walla Walla Valley 2002
This stunning complex, age worthy wine is a composition of seven great vineyards dominated by the Walla Walla AVA. There is 80% Cabernet Sauvignon from LeFore, Pepper Bridge, Seven Hills, Sagemoor and Window Vineyards. To lengthen the finishing pleasure of this wine, 10% Merlot was added from Dwelley Jones, Seven Hills and Spring Valley Vineyards, as well as a 10% addition of Cabernet Franc from Dwelley Jones and Spring Valley Vineyards. The Walla Walla Terroirs evident in the flavors of this elegant wine are: black current, tobacco, and a chocolate finish.
Each of our vineyard solis shape the wine that comes from it. This is the essence of terroir. The soil of Seven Hills at the south end of the Valley is Ellisford Silt Loam.
Delicious. Drink now or in the next couple years. Tannins are ultra smooth, but the acid is still strong, but not over the top. wine still has a backbone. Very rich plums, dark cherries, cocoa and leather, with a little rose petals. Awesome wine.
