Lemelson Vineyards Pinot Noir Stermer Vineyard Willamette Valley 2006

Winemaker's Notes:

"The 2006 Pinot Noir Stermer Vineyard is dark ruby-colored with earthnotes, mineral, black cherry, and black raspberry. This is followed bya medium- to full-bodied wine with gobs of succulent fruit, nicelyconcealed tannins, excellent balance, and a pure, fruit-filled finish.Enjoy it from 2011 to 2020. Lemelson Vineyards is certifiedorganic which encompasses six estate vineyards and 120 producing acres. All of the wines are fermented with native yeasts."92 pointsJay Miller, The Wine Advocate #179, Oct. 2008"The vines from Stermer are beginning to lose theirexuberant youth and now show a deeper, more savory, old-worldpersonality. The dark, brooding nose of the 2006 Stermer Vineyard Pinotnoir is centered on mace, fennel and forest floor rather than effusivefruit. As the wine opens there is cherry, strawberry, roasted herbs andeven Chianti-like rose and tar notes. The palate is soft and silken onentry with bright red fruit and spice intensifying the mid-palate. Thefinish reflects the nose with spice and subtle earth persisting, withstructure to age gracefully."Winery Notes

We didn’t take a typical route to entering the wine business, (if such a path actually exists!). Pinot noir is often a passion that finds you as much as you find it. As you may realize, however, once it’s got a hold of you, there’s no turning back. We came to the world of wine from many different backgrounds: environmental policy, information technology, delivering babies , and several other professions, including wine wholesaling. Like other Pinot fanatics, we love what we do, and believe that our wines reflect our dedication to our craft. We also live and work as an extended family in our vineyards and in the winery. For several months during harvest, we see each other more than we see our spouses and children! We try to remember to give thanks throughout for the blessings of good land, good friends, and good work, and we definitely appreciate the beauty of Western Oregon on a daily basis! Herein are a few details about Who We Are. Read less

Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.
