We didn’t take a typical route to entering the wine business, (if such a path actually exists!). Pinot noir is often a passion that finds you as much as you find it. As you may realize, however, once it’s got a hold of you, there’s no turning back. We came to the world of wine from many different backgrounds: environmental policy, information technology, delivering babies , and several other professions, including wine wholesaling. Like other Pinot fanatics, we love what we do, and believe that our wines reflect our dedication to our craft. We also live and work as an extended family in our vineyards and in the winery. For several months during harvest, we see each other more than we see our spouses and children! We try to remember to give thanks throughout for the blessings of good land, good friends, and good work, and we definitely appreciate the beauty of Western Oregon on a daily basis! Herein are a few details about Who We Are. Read less

The Pinot Noir portfolio begins with the entry-level 2006 Pinot Noir Thea's Selection. Medium ruby-colored, it exhibits a nose of earth notes, cherry, and raspberry. Supple-textured and easy-going, the wine is well-balanced, lengthy, and has no hard edges. Drink it over the next four years.

Dark and crisp, with a biting edge to the blackberry and blackberry leaf aromas and flavors, finishing with a smoky note. Best from 2009 through 2014.

Bright raspberry and sour cherry fruit notes, balanced by gentle spice and lively acidity. Smooth, velvety mouthfeel, and surprisingly light and lively considering the alcohol (14.5%). Great lift and focus, perfect dinner accompaniment - try it with grilled salmon, roasted duck or herbed chicken dishes.

Winemaker Eric Lemelson crafts this blend by choosing the most plush, fruit-forward barrels from all six of his organically farmed estate vineyards. The resulting wine, named for his mother, Dorothy, is meant for early drinking. The 2004 vintage suffered rain in June, which ultimately led to low flowering and small yields, concentrating the fruit flavors.

Light-medium red. Peppery red berries and cherry on the nose, with dusty floral and mineral qualities adding energy. Red fruit flavors offer good clarity and light weight, with an orange zest quality adding verve. This was raised in just over 50% new oak but I don't sense it. Finishes brisk and clean, with excellent lift.

Ripe and round, with a smoky, slightly briny edge to the blackberry flavors, and a mild grip of tannin to the open-textured finish. Best after 2008.

Rich and aromatic. Not heavy, but packed with huckleberry, plum and an array of sweet spices that keep sailing through the long, beautifully formed finish. A complete wine that has style and grace. Best from 2007 through 2012.
