Leeuwin Estate Shiraz Margaret River Siblings 2004
Strongly fruit driven with lifted mulberry, blackberry and plum fruits balanced by vanilla, white pepper and spice. The palate is of medium to full body with intense black cherry and blackberry fruits carrying through to a long and focused finish with fine grain tannins framing the generous soft fruit.
Editorial Reviews for Leeuwin Estate Shiraz Margaret River Siblings
Jammy mulberry fruits at first then quite herbal and floral with farmyard drying grass, hay, touch of leather, meadow, earth, and minor smoky toast note. Really well balanced in the mouth with good weight without it feel fat or forced, really lovely mouthfeel with spice, and mineral tones balanced by soil and dusty earth notes that add complexity to the sour cherry fruit. Soft, integrated acids, perfect tannin balance, touch of vanilla and wild cherry /bitter cherry candy on the moderately long. Fun with zesty fruit if a bit atypical. 90pts
This is bright and fruity on the nose with notes of blueberry and black currant lifted by subtle notes of smoke and spice. In the mouth it's fairly soft and resolved with a deep, round, smooth core of fruit but lacks a bit of complexity and detail. The finish is decidedly fun and fruity yet the wine shows good balance and is ultimately a restrained style of fruit bomb. 87pts
