Smooth, with pretty plum and red currant flavors laced with warm spices and a touch of earth. Nothing overly ripe or jammy here. Finishes with touches of creamy vanilla and toasty oak. Ready to drink now and over the next four or five years.

The color is vibrant plum with velvet purple edges. The aromas are immediately apparent with a very positive raspberry and currant note showing, surrounded by a striking lift of 'noble' smoke, which in itself shows only from great years and great vineyards. The palate is fruity with length and fine texture. Though the overall effect is a flavorful finesse, there is a great impact of dried fruits and currants on the finish. Positive tannin structure carries it through for the long haul.
