Leeuwin Estate Art Series Riesling 2004

WA 89 (10/2005): The flinty, earthy 2004 Riesling Art Series exhibits tart, under ripe apricot and peach-like notes, medium body, a touch of minerality, and a dry, long finish. It should drink well for 1-2 years.

A very well balanced and dry palate, finishing clean and long with lingering sweet citrus fruit, but delicate in structure. Superb drinking now, but with medium ageing potential. An ideal accompaniment to seafood dishes. BackgroundThe Art Series represents Leeuwin's finest wines from each vintage. The fruit for the Art Series is sourced from the oldest vines on the property and undergo rigorous selection process prior to picking. The labels are identified with paintings commissioned from leading contemporary Australian artists. The famous 'Frogs in Riesling' have featured on the Leeuwin riesling since the earliest vintages in the 1980's. WS 89 (5/2005): Lively, refreshing and distinctly Riesling, with floral, lemon and lime flavors that end with a lovely mineral note. The finish persists deftly. Drink now through 2014. 1,400 cases imported.
