L'Ecole No. 41 Cabernet Sauvignon Walla Walla Valley 2005

Winemaker's Notes:

"The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley was aged in 35% new oak.Cedar, leather, pencil lead, red currants, and black currants make foran enticing bouquet. On the palate the wine has layered fruit withspicy, savory flavors, good balance, and a moderately long finish.Drink it over the next 7 years.LEcole No. 41 is one of WallaWallas pioneers, the third modern day winery in the Valley. Over theyears the winery has prospered, outgrown the namesake schoolhouse, andnow produces about 35,000 cases with distribution in all 50 states andabroad. Despite the expansion, quality has remained consistentlyexcellent. LEcoles original fame was the result of its success withSemillon. Today the winery produces three."89 pointsJay Miller, Wine Advocate # 177, Jun 2008

I love this wine for $15 you would be very hard pressed to find any cab from anywhere that could stand up to this walla walla icon. Pair this with a big thick slab of NY steak and you are in for a treat. Enjoy.

Bright and lively, with a dark hue to the licorice and other spice notes around the core of cherry and berry fruit, finishing with fine texture and generosity.
