- L'Ecole has been making Semillon since 1983 and is recognized in the industry as one of the top producers of this varietal. Washington is geographically well positioned, with cool evening temperatures and long daylight hours, to produce outstanding quality from this Bordeaux varietal. Picked late in the season when this varietal's unique character is fully developed, the wine is barrel fermented to dryness and oak-aged on the lees up to six months in new French oak.
