Le Vivier du Paveil Margaux 1990

Member Review by duncan 906:

I bought this wine last weekend for ten pounds when I visited a gentleman in Sussex who usually sells wine he has obtained from house clearances on the www.bidforwine.co.uk website.Le Vivier du Paveil is the second wine of the large and well known Cru Bourgeois Chateau Paveil de Luze [ www.chateaupaveildeluze.com ].The vineyards go back to at least the 17th Century but the place was bought by a Baron de Luze in 1862 whose descendants still own and run it.My research has revealed that the wines are made up of 70%cabernet sauvignon,25%merlot and 5%cabernet franc. My bottle had obviously been well cellared because the fill was well into the neck, there was a sediment stain on the inside of one side of the bottle and the bottom of the cork was saturated with wine.I started drinking it last.night with my supper of beef stew and my first impresion was how fruity and fresh it tasted and how drinkable it was..The tannins were soft and it was not dry at all.It is a quality wine that did not show its age at all.

Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.
