Le Salette Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico la Marega 2009

External Review by Prestige Wine & Spirits:

Sleek and silky, offering black cherry coulis and dried cranberry fruit notes, with supple tannins and accents of star anise, gumdrop, dried rosemary and sage that linger on the juicy finish. Drink now through 2023.

Yet another gorgeous expression, the 2009 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico La Marega takes a traditional approach, with 60% of the oak aging in botte grande and 40% in barrique. The elegance of the fruit comes though, as does the chewy intensity of the appassimento. Dark cola, mesquite, leather, resin, road asphalt, prune, raisin and cigar box fall seamlessly in line. The mouthfeel is richly textured and bold. Drink 2016–2028.
