Reviews for 2007 Vintage
Jammy and delightful. Silky finish like frosting. Confused why same label comes in different varieties from Italy and elsewhere. If you like the Shiraz, you'll enjoy Desert Eagle and Maverick (both also from Barossa in Australia).
A classic Shiraz with peppery notes made all the better with the smooth tannins and full fruit richness
Can frequently be found at World Market/Cost Plus. Great wine for the price.
Dark, brimming with cocoa, fresh blueberry and spice; an ubundance of black cherry, dried plum, freshly cut tobacco and coffee dominate the plate.
had a bottle of this wine while on holiday in colorado. delicious. we could only find the 2008 variety the next time but not nearly as yummy. so try to find the 2007.
This is a fantastic wine and more than most snobbish wine purists would expect from a screw top. This shiraz opens up beautifully in a large glass or decanted. (the glass I am having now has been open for hours) It's jammy, fruit forward and heavy nosed, with a color like the deepest of black cherry or licorice. The lightness and smooth texture is surprising considering its other attributes. The finish fades into nothing but a tanged reminder on the sides of the tongue. I love this wine for drinking, but it goes equally well with tender meats.
Have had the past 3 vintages of this wine and boy, it just keeps getting better. my favorite shiraz, a wine that will stain your glass the deepest purple i have ever seen in a wine. big chocolate, earth, pepper, and licorice nose. the body is huge, almost like a ruby porto. the nose follows through in the taste with several layers of earth, hence the name. finishes with a long, lasting chocolate pallate. wonderful wine, cant wait to see what my 2007 will taste like in 4 years.
Good mix of flavors traditionally found in heavier reds. Surprizingly less dry than I was anticipating but in a good way. Does vary from glass to glass.
A delicious wine with a very fitting name. Bursting with deep fruit flavors of cherry and blackberry and a finish that has many 'layers' to it.
