Layer Cake Shiraz 2006
It was okay - not too much going on with this wine. Quite approachable with its soft tannins, so if you have someone who isn't much of a red drinker, this might please.
Plump and rich; the wine was so much different than what I am accustomed to with traditional Cotes du Rhone. From what I understand it's 100% Syrah which explained the richness and mineralities that showed so nicely. There's a peppery hint that melts with the black fruits and subtle leather components. Easy to drink and a value for me
This is one of my favorite everyday type of wines. Beautiful color, rich flavor. I believe the 2005 was a bit better but still an excellent value.
Exquisite blending of summer fruits and peppery taste. Soft tannins, decent legs. Goes well with red meat, salmon, or by itself as a sipping wine.
Smooth, deep taste with just a bit of spice. No heavy aftertaste. Great everyday drinking wine!
This is a great red for people that maybe don't like reds. Smooth finish, no ill after taste
I am rather a big and heavy red wine drinker but this wine totally stole my heart despite the fact it is a lighter style of red. It is very elegant and easy to drink with cheese and meat plate or by itself to have a relaxing night after a long day of work.....I am loving it!

Although each vineyard source could have produced a superlative bottle of Syrah, we found when blended, the wine was the most complete; each terroir complimenting the next.
