A nice wine with a Spanish entre' which we had at Alto Cinco on Westcott in Syracuse. Oh yea, did I say at a good value?

    This red wine comes from a collection of growers dedicated to making some fantastic dry, red wines in the Douro Valley. This is plush with fruit, dark berries and all around approachability. A red wine to pair with any rich meal whether it be burgers or a roast.

    Tasting Notes: Rated 89 POINTS in Vinhos de Portugal 2008 book by Joao Paulo Martins. "The wine changed its profile somewhat versus the previous vintage; it is greener, more vegetal, less fruity and more elegant in style. Very well proportioned in the mouth, perfect acidity for the style; everything pointing to consumption whilst young particularly when accompanied by seafood dishes." by Joao Paulo Martins. Percentage Grape: Viosinho (70%), Codega (20%) and mixture of old vines (10%) Soil: Schistous Growing Climate: Temperate with Atlantic influence Age of Barrel: New Type of Wood: French oak Alcohol Percentage: 13.3 % PH: 3,49 Aging Time: 3 months Total Acidity: 5,16 g/l
