Editorial Reviews for L'Aventure Rosé
Big notes of candied black berry fruits greet the nose with this wine and are quickly joined by floral notes, spice tones and a touch of green anise seed. Moderately rich in the mouth this just scream out I am ripe mourvedre! If you like Mourvedre chances are you will love this wine. The fruits are rich, dark and earthy in the mouth with lovely leathery, cocoa tinged edges. The tannins are nicely integrated and balanced by the excellent acids. The wine finishes with rich wild berry and mulberry tones and just a hint of dried mushroom on the finale. 93pts

Rich nose of spicy red and black fruit. Great acid and texture. Velvety and lush with light pepper and rich red fruit. Raspberry and other red berries. It's luscious and elegant. Really tasty! 94 pts. 9/1/12 at winery
Interesting to taste this again a couple of years later. I'd have to say I like it more now than on release. Smoke, leather, black pepper, blackberries and cherries -- cinnamon, cocoa and a bit of cream. Well balanced and just awesome.
My first thought was 'tastes expensive'. Very complex layering with a good weight, deep fruit on the palate (pomegranate? blueberries?) and a lot of opulent vanilla notes on the finish. I tasted several wines at this winery, and this one stood out to me.
Wonderful wine. Concentrated fruit, long finish. Delicious. At $80-90, it's a great deal.
Bright cherry fruit on the nose. Flavors have a nice spice to them, following through from the attack to fill the palate. Bright red fruit, pepper and leather.
Blackberry and cherry on the nose. Incredibly smooth and elegant with restrained sweet fruit flavors. Very rich and yet balanced. With cocoa, eucalyptus and cedar notes. Lovely. Finishes on chocolate and licorice.

Intense and focused without being overweight this homes in on crushed rock fresh earth and dried berry with touches of black licorice and spice. Needs time and air. Grenache Syrah and Mourvhdre. Drink now through 2023. JL Wine Spectator.
(42% grenache 33% syrah and 25% mourvedre raised in 50% new oak): Vivid ruby. Explosive aromas of black raspberry boysenberry incense and star anise with a hint of vanilla. Bright and energetic with excellent clarity to its sweet berry and cherry-cola flavors. A suave floral nuance gains strength with air and carries through the very long spicy seamless finish. The blockbuster 2005 Estate Cuvee (52% Syrah, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 8% Petit Verdot) exhibits an inky/blue/purple color as well as sumptuous aromas of charcoal, blueberry and blackberry liqueur,... A thrilling, nearly perfect efforts is the 2005 Estate Cuvee. The fabulous, inky/blue/purple-tinged 2005 Estate Cuvee, a combination of 52% Syrah, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 8% Petit Verdot, boasts a compelling bouquet of charcoal, creme de cassis, graphite, and acacia flowers. Full-bodied with tremendous purity, fruit depth, and complexity, this is a stunning example of fantastic winemaking, fruit, and terroir. Drink it over the next 10-15 years.
A stunning blend of almost equal parts Grenache, Mourvedre, and Syrah (a true GSM as the Aussies say), is the dark ruby/purple-tinged 2005 Cote a Cote. Gloriously ripe creme de cassis, black cherry, raspberry, smoke, and crushed rock-like aromas soar... Robert Parker. Dense, intense aromas of ripe fig, mineral earth, black tea and blackberry converge seamlessly. These aromas manifest themselves on the palate in a balanced attack, where they are joined by licorice, chocolate and vanilla spice notes to form a long, rich finish. Lush, soft tannins make this a very unctuous, pleasing wine.
94 points Jeb Dunnuck (Wine Advocate): Leading off the 2011s reds, the 2011 Optimus is a rocking value that gives more than a glimpse into the style and quality of this estate. A blend of 50% Syrah, 33% Cabernet Sauvignon and 17% Petit Verdot and spending 14 months in 70% new French oak, it delivers fantastic black and blue fruits, tobacco, violets and cedar aromas and flavors to go with a full-bodied, supple and beautifully polished mouthfeel that stays fresh and lively. Gorgeous all around, it will drink nicely through 2021, if not longer. Drink now-2021. (Aug 2013)
