L'Aventure Côte à Côte 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

94 points Rhone Report: Deep purple and glass staining... 55% Syrah, 27% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 18% Petit Verdot, is a perfumed, lavishly fruited effort that gives up notions of black currants, lead pencil, mint, tobacco, and violets to go with a full-bodied, soft, supple, and open knit palate feel. The purity here is exceptional, and the texture is pure silk; it is ready to go now, and should shine for 8-10 years... this is certainly the value play of the lineup and has loads of class. (Dec 2012)

Rich nose of spicy red and black fruit. Great acid and texture. Velvety and lush with light pepper and rich red fruit. Raspberry and other red berries. It's luscious and elegant. Really tasty! 94 pts. 9/1/12 at winery

Intense and focused without being overweight this homes in on crushed rock fresh earth and dried berry with touches of black licorice and spice. Needs time and air. Grenache Syrah and Mourvhdre. Drink now through 2023. JL Wine Spectator.
