Interesting to taste this again a couple of years later. I'd have to say I like it more now than on release. Smoke, leather, black pepper, blackberries and cherries -- cinnamon, cocoa and a bit of cream. Well balanced and just awesome.

Winemaker's Notes:

94-96 points Rhone Report: A similar blend as the '08, The 2009 Cote-a-Cote is a mix of 42% Grenache, 33% Syrah, and 25% Mourvedre. Full bodied and gorgeously built, this is loaded with potential and displays pure cassis and blackberry fruits with supporting notes of licorice, smoke, and earthy undertones. Impressive on the fruit front, this shows superb structure with a very long, tannic finish. It should evolve for 3 to 5 years after release and drink well for 10 to 12 years. (Nov 2010)
