Lava Cap Chardonnay El Dorado 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

This perfectly balanced wine begins with inviting aromas of apple, dried apricot, and toasty oak. On the palate, enticing flavors of green apple, pear, lime, and vanilla. The wine pairs nicely with roast chicken or veal entrees.

This is part of Apple Hill, El Dorado, beginning at Grace Patriot wines and covering Lava Cap, Crystal Basin, Jack Russell Brewing, Boa Vista and Madroña in the same area. We tasted this at Lava Cap. Not the overly oaky Californian style Chardonnay, this was well-balanced and smooth with notes of green apple and pear.
