Laurent Perrier Rose Brut Champagne Ml NV

Winemaker's Notes:

Berry Bros & Rudd review: Archetypical rose, made from bled grapes, dominated by red fruits and an<br/>aestetic ensemble which is close to irresistible.

Founded in 1812, Laurent-Perrier is recognised - throughout the world - as one of the finest of Champagne Houses. This success derives, first and foremost, from a clear determination to abide by long-established traditions: respect for nature and wine, dedication to quality, and strong and lasting relationships with all those associated with the company, within and without. It is also the result of the sheer driving force of Bernard de Nonancourt, the creator of the Laurent-Perrier range, and that of his daughters, Alexandra and Stéphanie, who are concentrating their own energies on preserving the Group’s independence and perpetuating its values. A rich, nutty, and biscuity tete de cuvee Champagne.

Nose of rose petals, aggressive bibles, but sweet red berry fruits, nice finish

Really nice Champagne. Perfect sweetness and acidity, fine bubbles and a nice colour. Warm and inviting, one ofthe best NV's I've had.

This is absolutely one of my favorite rose champagnes. It's not too sweet but still satisfies with its fruity, bright flavor.

The new release of this wine is a blend of the rsquo;88, rsquo;90 and rsquo;93 vintages. Very fine, strong mousse. Knockout, musky nose combines orange pith, honeysuckle, spices and chalk. Offers nearly painful intensity of lemon and wet stone flavor without any excess weight. Dense, extremely concentrated material is leavened by brilliant acidity. Wonderfully chewy and sappy in the middle palate and on the extremely long finish. Itrsquo;s hard top get this out of your mouth! Still, the winersquo;s finishing austerity suggests that itrsquo;s nowhere near its peak today. A great value in tecircte de cuveacute;e Champagne.

Mature, with a touch of scrambled egg and burnt sulfur on the dry bouquet. This one turns lean and crisp, with green apple and a hint of lemon on the nose palate. That said, therersquo;s still laudable depth of flavor and complexity. Overall the impression is largely of citrus.

This multivintage blend is Laurent-Perrierrsquo;s top cuveacute;e, a grand wine that needs decanting to show how it will meld and mellow with age. The scents of orange blossom and toasted lees are tightly wrapped in acidity, a hard edge that softens with air. For the cellar, and eventually for rich shellfish dishes.

#13 on the Wine Enthusiast Magazine’s Top 100 Cellar Selections for 2014! This Champagne from Laurent Perrier celebrates Louis XIV's era known as the "Great Century". In a replica of a 17th Century bottle evoking the radiance of that period, Laurent-Perrier's prestige cuvée embodies luxury, magnificence and elegance fit for a king. Grand Siècle is made with a Pinot Noir and Chardonnay blend. Twelve of the most prestigious villages supply the grapes; all of them classified 100% Grands Crus. Some are Ambonnay, Verzenay, Mailly, Avize, Cramant, Chouilly and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. Within the vineyards of these villages, only the very best plots are selected, as are the finest musts from the pressings. The blended wine is then aged during the second fermentation on the yeast for approximately five years. With top scores from all of the critics, Wine Enthusiast Magazine selected it as a Top 100 Cellar Selection for 2014. Scoring it 97 points, they said “Laurent-Perrier’s prestige cuvée has always been non-vintage, a blending of top wines from top years. It remains an exceptional wine, not quite dry and with a tinge of softness, but so elegant and balanced. This bottling has just the right amount of maturity, hinting at toast while guarding every iota of fruitiness.”

Deep green-gold with tiny bubbles, this multi-vintage blend contrasts freshness and oxidative elements. The scent is complex and heady, the flavor clean and sophisticated. Fine effervescence in the mouth cuts the richness and keeps it lively, light to the touch, almost transparent. Match the heady richness to roasted sweetbreads.

From the first sniff you know this is a refined and arrestingly complex wine, with a bouquet of subtly entwined layers mixing ripe fruits, mineral, leesy-cheesy accents, vanilla and even a bit of metal in the steely center. Three-dimensional flavors and a wonderful lightness on the palate make for an exceptional bottle.

Almost dry, with the freshest of apple and grapefruit characters, a lively layer of mineral and lime, and a delicate character. This is a crisply delicious, aperitif style of Champagne.
