Very fine, strong mousse Knockout, musky nose combines orange pith, honeysuckle, spices and chalk. Offers nearly painful intensity of lemon and wet stone flavor without any excess weight. Dense, extremely concentrated material is leavened by brilliant acidity. Wonderfully chewy and sappy in the middle palate and on the extremely long finish. It's hard to get this out of your mouth! Still, the wine's finishing austerity suggests that it's nowhere near its peak today. A great value in tete de cuvee Champagne.

From the first sniff you know this is a refined and arrestingly complex wine, with a bouquet of subtly entwined layers mixing ripe fruits, mineral, leesy-cheesy accents, vanilla and even a bit of metal in the steely center. Three-dimensional flavors and a wonderful lightness on the palate make for an exceptional bottle.
