Editorial Reviews for Laurel Glen Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma Mountain
Much like the 86 this had a wonderful nose with cassis and herb in harmony and gentle backing tones of wood spice and eucalyptus. Big and chewy in the mouth with superbly refreshing acidity that prevented this from becoming ponderous. This seems a touch hot and short at this moment though the wine is packed with fruit and tannin that are very well managed so this should have a long life ahead but tonight it is a touch diffuse. 90pts
A nice dose as ass leather great the nose but behind it this is very clear and pure with black currants, eucalytptus, and soil tones. It's dense and chewy in the mouth with solid supporting acidity and tannins that remain slightly chalky. It's got great length and comes off as a particulerly sinewy, muscular example of Sonoma Mountain Cabernet that may benefit from another several years in the cellar. 91pts
This is just classic California Cabernet at peak rich with ripe cassis fruit gentle edged in earthy tones with just a hint of ripe herbal notes adding complexity and an undercurrent of leather growing in the glass. Perfectly resolved in the mouth with fine balance and bright acids offer a counterpoint to the sweet red fruit, the core of fruit is just wonderfully ripe and rich and the juicy acids extend the medium long finish. Delicious! 93pts
Definitely dark and spicy...I really enjoyed this bottle of wine.
Year in, year out a delicious blend. My 'house red'. If only all winemakers paid this much attention to their 'lesser' wine. My hat's off to Patrick Campbell, who adds value by cutting out middlemen, not cutting corners.
Three stars on WYPR's Cellar Notes. A little pricey for me.
gorgeous structure, reasonable extraction, delicate tannins. a soft hand in an otherwise heavy-handed cabernet race.
I was surprised at how drinkable it was right not considering how ageable Laurel Glen can be. I love how smooth it is yet with a full and complex flavor. Yum!

Bordeaux-like with measured ripeness and structure this cool climate Cabernet shows off flavors of herb dried berry black cherry and black licorice. Gains depth and maintains focus through the finish. Should reward short-term cellaring. Drink now through 2022. JL Wine Spectator.
Red wine - 2008 - Laurel Glen Reds - USA - Region: California - Apellation: Sonoma - Caubernet Sauvignon - 750 ml.
A sort of second wine to Laurel Glen s estate Cabernet, this is quite simply a wonderful wine. It s dry, tannic and crisply balanced, with rich flavors of blackberries, currants, cola, herbs and sweet, smoky sandalwood. Really compelling, and at this price, a steal in a great coastal California Cabernet.
The 2006 REDS is delicious, spicy, and rich with zinfandel providing dark raspberry fruit, carignane adding an exotic tang of white pepper, while the petite syrah tones down the tendency of zinfandel to become too jammy and pulls the whole blend
This is a dark reddish-purple wine, almost black at the center. Fresh, fruit-centered aromas of red and black plums, cherries and berries add a warm note of spice. Full, ripe and juicy fruit flavors are well structured by fresh-fruit acidity.
An old-fashioned field blended-style wine, Reds is almost always a dependably complex, satisying sipper at a fair price. This year?s release is soft and dry, with well-balanced fruit and earth flavors that will go nicely with a good steak or grilled
Solid, chunky and firm, with pretty black cherry, wild berry, plum and raspberry flavors, finishing with tight, chewy tannins. Best from 2002 through 2009.
