It s dry, tannic and crisply balanced, with rich flavors of blackberries, currants, cola, herbs and sweet, smoky sandalwood. Big scaled and displays very ripe fruit with strongsupporting acidity and great minerality. It exudes a rich cassis aroma that is simply intoxicating.

As always, the laurel Glen exhibits great poise, its mountain flavors sculpted into a stylish whole. The rsquo;95 seems less concentrated than past vintages; its cassis fruit and chocolate spice will be tasty beside a roast chicken and scalloped potatoes.

Solid, chunky and firm, with pretty black cherry, wild berry, plum and raspberry flavors, finishing with tight, chewy tannins. Best from 2002 through 2009.

Tight, lean, firm and tannic. Shows a green, stalky edge to the moderately ripe cherry and currant flavors, and is ruggedly tannic with crisp acidity; best cellared into 2000.

Well crafted, if a bit on the austere side, well focused on a core of currant and black cherry, with light toast and cedary oak shadings. Finishes with firm, round tannins and a trace of mineral. Good structure. Best from 2001 through 2009.
