Laudun Chusclan Cinq Cepages Cotes du Rhone 2015

Member Review by duncan 906:

I bought this bottle of wine for £10 from a shop in London's Kensington [www.nicolas.co.uk] It is a white Cotes du Rhone from the Laudun-Chusclan co-operative group According to the back label it is dominated by grenache blanc with some clairette, roussanne and viognier although it does not give the proportions..I started it today with my fish supper. It is a dry wine but not bone-dry It is has some citrus acidity and some sour apple style fruit. It went well with the fish although I thought it an OK wine rather than an outstanding wine. However it did get a silver medal at the 2016 Macon wine competition.

The Laudun Chusclan Vignerons had commited with the preservation of the winemaking legacy in their AOC, which dates back to the roman times, participating in the restoration and preservation of the Château de Gicon. They are also interested in the preservation of the enviroment, making sure that 85% of their vineyards were certificated as sustainable, and cultivating organically more than 100 hectares.
