Laubade Floc de Gascogne NV

Member Review by chrishain:

I have grown to absolutely love this stuff! Initially, I thought it too sweet but once I began drinking it appropriately as an aperitif or as a dessert wine/liqueur I developed quite an affinity. It is very complex, but to me the flavors I detect most often are apples and butterscotch. I drink it in small doses, chilled, either with dessert or as a dessert itself.

Chateau de Laubade:
Chateau de Laubade, whose facade has been preserved in the 19th century Norman style, is one of the most important properties in the Armagnac region, and their armagnac is number one on today’s "top quality" market (it is considered to be the Hermes of Armagnacs)..
Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

Made from Gros Manseng Semillon and Ugni Blanc juice with young Armagnac made from Folle Blanche. Complex aromatics of melon, grapefruit, pear, apricot and honey leading to a slight sweet finish. Perfect on the rocks on a warm sunny day.
