Maybe I drank this too young? I just wasn't impressed.
Full bodied, long after taste that "echos". Has a complex texture and expandable palate.. Poultry and powerful nose, full and round with strawberry and cherry notes.. Hints of spice and "saltiness" with a finishing of marvelous desire for another gulp, not sip. To drink one of the Big Five, if I were you, I like to try another vintage. For this vintage, the finishing might be sexier shall the wine matures after 5-10 years from now. In Summary: Almost perfect, just the "finishing"

Chateau La Tour Haut Brion Pessac Leognan Full ruby-red. Inky black cherry and bitter chocolate aromas. Suave; strong acidity gives excellent flavor delineation. Bitter chocolate and black cherry are lifted by a floral element. Best on the long finish: impressive tannic structure.
The dark plum/ruby-hued 2004 Haut-Brion exhibits a noble, discrete, smoky bouquet revealing notions of plum liqueur, black currants, sweet cherries, and subtle earth. Wonderful aromas of dried flowers, currant, berries and mineral. Full-bodied, yet reserved and refined. Lovely texture, with a pure silk feel. Seamless and beautiful. Great length. Even better than from barrel. Best after 2012. 12,500 cases made. -JS Wine Spectator. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2004 Haut Brion 750ml
"An atypically high percentage of Merlot (61%) in addition to 19% Cabernet Franc, and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon make up the 2004 Haut-Brion. Fifty-five percent of the production was utilized for the grand vin, a surprisingly forward, charming,
Good medium ruby. Blueberry and pungent minerality on the nose. Dense, pure and high-pitched; impressive for its definition and grip but not at all lacking in flesh. Finishes with chewy, gripping tannins and excellent length.
Refined with supple ripe cassis on the palate silky tannins and bracing acidity Haut-Bailly's star is on the rise and here is a chance to see what all the fuss is about at a very good price. Perfect with roast lamb this wine from an excellent vintage for Ch. Haut-Bailly also goes well with game birds and hard cheese.
