Las Rocas de San Alejandro Catalunya Rosado 2007
An excellent co-operative established in 1968 with over 550 members. These members have 420 hectares of vineyard, primarily in the Salnés Valley in Rias Baixas. Martín Códax wine pays homage to the troubadour of the same name who lived in this region in the 13th century. It is said that he was born and lived in Galicia. His songs exalted the beauty of women, gallant love and wine. The Organistrum is a medieval string instrument that two minstrels used to play during the poetry recitals that took placein villages and medieval towns leading to Santiago de Compostela. This wine shows a clean attractive straw-yellow colour that has a bright golden glint. On the nose fresh fruit is balanced by the touch of vanilla and wood from the oak. On the palate it is dry, wellbalanced and full-bodied. It has a complex and persistent finish.
