Las Olas Rueda 2010
Light, crisp and delicious alternative to Sauvignon Blanc. Great focus and fresh acidity; loaded with bright citrus fruit and a touch of grass. Drinks beautifully chilled on its own, but this wine is perfectly suited to salads, fruit and veggie trays, and light chicken dishes.Add winemaker's notes

The appearance is brilliant almond-yellow colored with greenish reflections. The aroma is fruity and floral with a slight hint of anise. On the palate it is equally fruity and fresh, with tangy grapefruit, citrus and pineapple flavors. It is light bodied, yet nicely structured with a crisp and juicy finish. Pairs well with light cheeses and Serrano ham. Ideal with paella or arroz con pollo.
The chalky and stony soils of Rueda once formed the bottom of a glacial lake, and were identified 40 years ago as a potential source for crisp, dry whites for a Spanish wine industry that lacked anything in the category. This wine is fruity, sleek and bracing, reminiscent of a mineral-rich Sauvignon Blanc. Itrsquo;s made from organically farmed, night harvested grapes in a very modern style. Flavors of grapefruit, gooseberry, grass and herbs dominate.
