Crisp, fresh, layered and very morish. This wine has a wonderful minerality reminding me of Tuna sahimi especially in the finish. The bubbles are small, the nose has a lot of white flowers, accasia, some meyer lemon and candied lime notes, a little crisp green apple and the amazing umami finish - which leaves you salivating for the next sip!!

1999 Larmandier Bernier VVC Grand Cru - Sweet yeast & pear on nose, very much chardonnay. Well balanced sweetness with acidity and chalk on the palate. Dry mineral on the finish, 95 points. One thing of note regarding the Bernier, it really opened up after ~ 10 minutes of resting in the glass after pouring.

Immediately after opening still very closed. Almost no aromas. 4 hours later (the bottle should be empty by then) still no aromas, maybe some earthy ones. In the mouth it's mainly acidity. Towards the end it turns a little bit bitter. Rather long aftertaste, but with the bitterness it is not really enjoyable. Forget about the hype and taste this champagne before buying it. And think what nice wines you could buy for that money. I will never buy this champagne again.

It's got this amazing LEVITY about it and green apple notes. Done organically and biodynamically, which doesn't mean much when it comes to wine (if the wine is made with care from the best grapes anyway) so perhaps more importantly, this wine is made by a woman named Anne Claude Leflaive to her exacting standards.

This dry Champagne made us weep with joy. This is the real deal, no additives, honest type of dry bubbly that you can cellar for years to come. On the palate it's chalky and full of briney aromas that make you think of the sea.
