Larkmead Vineyards Red Bordeaux Blend Napa Valley Firebelle 2009
The nose showed cherry and black currant with mint, spice, chalky minerals, waxy notes and a hint of underbrush. On the palate, it was velvety smooth yet juicy with a hint of sweetness to it's black currant fruit, exotic spice and vanilla. The finish was long, long, long with blackberry, currant and a hint of citrus.Add winemaker's notes

The nose showed black currant, cherry liquor, spice, brown sugar and a hint of fresh-turned soil. On the palate, it was velvety smooth and luxuriant with blackberry jam, cherry wood and spice. The finish was exceptionally long with blackberry and currant fruit, yet fresh and begging for another sip.
An excellent wine for a special occasion and matches up nicely with nearly any food pairing. Dark fruit and currant preserves on wheat toast up front, Just a hint of sidewalk chalk on the finish. Color me pleased.
My first mistake was thinking of this as a Californian Merlot blend because it’s so much more than that. The nose was intense with red licorice, forest floor and cedar box. It had a gorgeous structure that will carry it for years to come. Filled to the brim with intense cherry fruit and spice. I wish I had more time with this wine but Napa’s appointment only system caused me to feel rushed. In the end, this is something I want in my cellar.
Still in tanks, but will be bottled in a few weeks, so its close... Hot nose - still very high alcohol, obviously this wine is young and powerful. Lots of fruit. A fun lively wine, am interested to see how it evolves. Firm tannins and a very long finish (30 secs). Its lively and could age very well.
Ruby color. Lovely oaked nose. Dark black fruit flavors. Medium body, tannin and acidity. The balance is perfect. It's blackberries and oak and a bunch more and I love it.
