Larkmead Vineyards Red Bordeaux Blend Napa Valley Firebelle 2006
Member Review by Eric Guido:
My first mistake was thinking of this as a Californian Merlot blend because it’s so much more than that. The nose was intense with red licorice, forest floor and cedar box. It had a gorgeous structure that will carry it for years to come. Filled to the brim with intense cherry fruit and spice. I wish I had more time with this wine but Napa’s appointment only system caused me to feel rushed. In the end, this is something I want in my cellar.

Still in tanks, but will be bottled in a few weeks, so its close... Hot nose - still very high alcohol, obviously this wine is young and powerful. Lots of fruit. A fun lively wine, am interested to see how it evolves. Firm tannins and a very long finish (30 secs). Its lively and could age very well.

Equally prodigious are the 800 cases of 2006 LMV Salon Proprietary Red, a blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Cabernet Franc, and the rest the other three Bordeaux varietals (Merlot, Malbec, and Petit Verdot). Spicy, chocolatey espresso roast notes ... Robert Parker. A Proprietary Blend wine from California in USA. 2006 Larkmead Vineyard LMV Salon Proprietary Red 750ml
