Larkmead Vineyards Merlot Napa Valley 1996

Member Review by Eric Guido:

The nose on the Larkmead Merlot was seductive with ripe black cherry, blackberry, sweet baking spice, a hint of herbs and green stems. It flooded the palate like a velvet wave of dark fruits with vanilla spice and mocha as it continued to show great persistence and vibrant acidity. The finish was long but not palate-staining, instead the dark fruits gracefully melted away into the close.
