What to Expect

The classic Bordeaux blends rely on either Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon for the bulk of the wine with additions of Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec helping to add complexity, color, body and structure to the finished wine.

Winemakers Notes

Bright ruby/purple. Explosively aromatic high notes of wild berries and violet with a smoky-mocha edge. The palate is powerfully rich yet supple and lively and features saturated cassis and blackberry fruit with the classic gravel-mineral-graphite character of the vineyard. The broad voluptuous tannins are completely integrated with the fruit and allow the wine to progress gracefully along the palate and finish with a hint of developing truffle complexity and sweet tobacco. Decant for an hour in its youth to experience the wine's full range of flavors.

Reviews

Black fruits and white chocolate and spice aromas invited me to sit there with the glass to my nose for quite a while. The palate is smooth and clean, hints of blackberries and oak and well integrated leathery tannins. There's a nice oaked edge on the finish.

Still got time to age - you can tell by the slightly hot nose and the powerful tannins, however, this is an amazing wine. Sweet blackberry must flavors with eucalyptus and a beautiful minerality. Solid tannins provide a long finish and give it the structure to age. Robert Parker rated it 94 points.

Full disclosure: Tasted at the vineyard on a beautiful day tranquil day, sublime setting and a private tour of the facilities. With that said...

A tough of alcohol on the nose. A smooth, gentle yet big fruity wine. Can continue to age.
