Now this Valpolicella! After three hours in decanter (long decant recommended by producer) this wine showed a nose of sour cherry, florist shop, dark chocolate, sage and and hint of confectioners sugar. On the palate, blackberry with citrus, more cherry and clove with streamlined acidity. A constantly evolving wine with a gorgeous mid-palate that swings from sweet to sour yet stays constantly expanding. Long and slightly bitter finish that reminds you that you're drinking Italian. Beautiful wine but needs the long decant to perform properly.
