Great bargain cab from the Rapel Valley in Chile. Strong hints on the nose and palate of strawberries and other dark berries, cassis and some nice tannins which should ensure the decade age-worthiness the label claims.
Very nice nose and a fairly long finish. Very good inexpensive cab.

Very nice wine. Round and full, nice fruit, nice mid palette, great nose of black cherry, white pepper, and even a little blueberry. Smooth and a long interesting finish with great mouth feel.
A LOT of strawberry on the nose and pallet, very enjoyable. Definitely some good tannins, could be worth aging a bit. Finishes on some spicy/earthy notes to me, but discreet.

Lapostolle's basic Cab scores big in the fine '01 vintage. It features a deep nose of tire rubber, blackberry and rusticity. The palate is high-octane and deep, with plenty of ripe, tannic black fruit. And the finish is round and lengthy. It should age well for a couple of years.
Displays herb-tinged dark fruit aromas as well as flavors. Medium-bodied, it coats the palate with its blackberry dominated personality then tightens to a slightly rustic finish. Drink it over the next 3 years.
Lots of toast up front, with briar, graphite and blackberry fruit behind. Slightly grainy feel on the finish, but solid for the vintage. Drink now.
Inviting nose of crushed raspberry and dark chocolate follows through on the palate, with juicy texture and honest tannins providing contour to the finish. Very solid. Hard to find a better deal in Cabernet. Drink now through 2004.
Bargain hunters should stalk this toasty, firm, well-made Cab because there aren't many better in the price range. The palate features pure dark cherry and cassis flavors, while the structure is tight but not hard. Finishes with coffee and sweet, ripe tannins. Drink now and all the way through 2008.
Light-bodied and fresh, with good red plum and grape flavors backed by a hint of tobacco on the finish. Drink now.
Ruby-red. Spiced cherry and blackberry aromas display good freshness, with brightening zesty minerality. Tightly wound red berry flavors are concentrated and rather firm, opening slowly and gaining some sweetness on the finish. This needs some cellaring, or time in the decanter.
