Food Pairings for Lapostolle Cabernet Sauvignon Cuvee Alexandre
Dark fruit aromas, blackberry, black cherry, black currants with a touch of spice. On the palate heavy dark fruit, full textured body, some leather and cedar notes, tannic structure well, a little meaty, loads of darkness, hot cocoa, some heat, would be amazing with steak night.

bottle says it can age for 10 years... thats questionable to say the least. This wine isnt bad, dirty nose, bark, stone, plummy. For the $ its a solid pick.
I can't quite remember exactly how this bottle tasted (no, I didn't black out from getting shit-faced) as it was awhile ago and I never reviewed it sooner. Other than the label, the wine doesn't stick out in my memory too much; therefore, I know it was a good bottle of wine but not the best...this review isn't helpful at all.
Good solid Cab. Tight structure, nicely balanced - not too tannic. Cherry/berry fruit with hints of coffee bean/cocoa. Nice clean finish. Let it breath a for a bit. A steal at under 10 bucks.
I picked up this 2007 cabernet based on there great 2004 syrah I had a chance to try and was intrigued by the quality of the cuvee alexander series. The smell is very nice ripe berries with a very creamy oakiness, nice nose. Color i dark deep inky purple. Also get a dark chocolate off the nose but overall you can just tell its a very powerful nose. Taste of cedar, tobacco, and very strong gripping tannins. This is a very nice wine for 17.99 and its a definite recommended wine. I am starting to believe this cuvee alexander level is a stellar buy. Really beautiful wine. Nice big bodied with long finish.

This friendly red offers a nice beam of briar, raspberry and blackberry fruit, wrapped with judicious toast on the finish. Drink now.
The medium to dark ruby-colored 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon has intense blackberry and cassis liqueur-like aromas. Medium to full-bodied and mouth-staining, this satin-textured wine is crammed with copious quantities of dark fruits. Seamless, with no hard edges, this excellent value is a well-structured, powerfully flavored wine for drinking over the next 6ndash;7 years.
Firm, toasty aromas blend well with cherry and plum notes. The palate is healthy in feel, with good depth and balance. Tastes lightly herbal, but the heavy lifting is handled by black fruit and chocolate flavors. Peppery on the finish and very solid as a whole.
Medium red. Red berries and spiced plum on the nose, with a light mineral quality adding energy. Silky in texture, with midweight raspberry and bitter chocolate flavors and good finishing grip. Attractively fresh wine.
A perennial Best buy Cab. The nose is smoky and rock-solid, with clean berry fruit and muscle. The palate is lively and secure, with balance, firm tannins, proper acidity and a tasty mix of cocoa, herbs and berry fruit. Finishes on the spot. Top flight in the under $15 category.
Lapostollersquo;s basic Cab scores big in the fine rsquo;01 vintage. It features a deep nose of tire rubber, blackberry and rusticity. The palate is high-octane and deep, with plenty of ripe, tannic black fruit. And the finish is round and lengthy. It should age well for a couple of years.
Right away this wine smells of good black fruit with mild earth and herbal accents. Itandrsquo;s dark, sultry and pure, with black cherry, plum and cassis all vying for attention. While dark fruit is the star here, thereandrsquo;s also good balance, mouthfeel, depth and herbal offsets. In the end itandrsquo;s about as good as youandrsquo;re going to get in under-$15 Merlot from Chile or anywhere.
Casa Lapostolle has been founded by the Marnier Lapostolle family from France and the Rabat family from Chile in 1994, through Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle, her husband Cyril de Bournet and Don José Rabat Gorchs. Today, Casa Lapostolle is 100% owned by the Marnier-Lapostolle group. The Marnier Lapostolle family, founders and owners of the world-renowned liqueur Grand Marnier, are known for producing spirits and liqueurs, but the family has been also involved in winemaking for generations. Originally winegrowers in the Loire Valley, the Marnier Lapostolle continue this vintner tradition today as owners of Chateau de Sancerre. The Cuvée Alexandre wines come from the Atalayas Vineyard in Casablanca, which is located on slopes facing different directions. This gives a great complexity once all the different parcels have been assembled into the final blend. This Cabernet Sauvignon offers up intense black fruit aromas, blackcurrant and cassis combined with light touches of cider tobacco and Herbs de Provence. Sweet spices return at the finish to add complexity. Well balanced structure and a long finish.
