What to Expect

Australia has certainly made Syrah its own, even bestowing it with a new name: Shiraz. In the warm, dry climate of Australia this noble grape, responsible for some of the grandest wines of France, produces an intense, unique expression that is distinctly Australian. The ripe grapes take on classic notes of black pepper and leather that add depth and complexity to the black cherry and plum fruits on the palate. Australian Shiraz has typically been aged in American Oak barrels which impart the wine with a distinct note of vanilla that can add to the impression of ripeness many of these wines have, but the time in barrel also allows the wines a chance to settle and reveal their rich, voluptuously styled mouthfeel.

The Barossa Region is known for its viticulture and wine
making. At its heart is the Valley Floor, a rich strip of land
exposed to the driest conditions and home to some of the
most select Shiraz vineyards of the area.

The ‘Valley Floor’, like other premium wines of the Barossa, is a regional blended wine. Grapes are
sourced from specially selected vineyards across all the sub regions of the read more...Barossa from a range of 120,
70, 50 and younger select parcels of which are then open fermented and basket pressed to make this classic
example of honest, hand made Barossa Valley Shiraz. Enjoy now or over the next ten years. 20% new
American Oak and 80% old American Oak.
COLOUR • Very deep crimson with purple hues.
NOSE • Lifted aromas of Raspberry and Satsuma Plum are complimented by Fine Milk Chocolate, Vanilla
and hints of Butter, Roasty and Smokey nuances
PALATE • Sweet Primary Fruits transfer to the palate which is full and well balanced with Briary Spice
and Fine but Firm American Oak Tannins. The finish is very Long and Fruitful yet Youthfully A    (hide)
