Langlois-Château Crémant de Loire 1912
Our Crémant de Loire brut is made from a blend of 4 varieties: chenin, chardonnay, cabernet franc and grolleau. Grapes are picked by hand and are pressed softly and progressively. The wine is fermented for a second time in the bottle to obtain the fine bubbles and is then rested on lees for at least two years. It is pale yellow in colour, , the bouquet is very elegant (white flowers, honey) and the taste fresh, delicate and refined. it is perfect for an aperitif as well as any celebration.
The Loire has many really good sparkling wines to offer - the quality ones always go under the "cremant" description. Langlois is owned by champagne house Bollinger and has the know-how and terroir to make one of the best sparkling wines I know under 20 bucks. Creamy, yeasty with ripe apple aromas. It's not champagne, but it's pretty darn lovely.
