L'Angevin Chardonnay Sonoma Coast Charles Heintz Vineyard 2006

Winemaker's Notes:

94 points Robert Parker: Made from a selection from the best barrels, the 2006 Chardonnay Peirson Meyer is a more restrained, almost structured style of Chardonnay that is slightly less charming and complex than the Charles Heintz, but it holds plenty in reserve. The wine reveals a liquid minerality character intermixed with notes of tropical fruit, honeyed orange, and lemon. It will probably open over the next year, and last for 5-7 years. (Dec 2008)

L'Angevin began as a joint venture between Alan Peirson and Robbie Meyer who met at Peter Michael Winery where Robbie was the enologist and assistant winemaker, and Alan was the estate/project manager. Joining the venture in 2002, making L'Angevin an entirely family business are Lesley Warner-Peirson and Shannon Meyer. This year brings new changes to our L’Angevin label. We are entering into a partnership with the owners of the Laughlin Vineyard. The L’Angevin label will become the home for the wines we produce from the Laughlin Family Vineyard in the Russian River Valley. Our long-term goal is for L’Angevin to be an estate grown and bottled program. Our Charles Heintz Chardonnay and Sonoma Stage Vineyard Pinot Noir formerly under the L’Angevin label have moved over to our Peirson Meyer label. Only the label has changed for these wines; what is inside the bottle continues with the same care, attention, and artisanal winemaking we have brought to you with each previous vintage. Read less

Sensational aromas of nectarines crushed rocks and peaches soar from the glass of the 2006 Chardonnay Charles Heintz Vineyard. It hits the palate with stunning concentration loads of tropical fruit and notes of lemon oil and orange blossom. A complex full-bodied Chardonnay with terrific minerality it too can be drunk over the next 3-4 years. 95 Robert Parker

A gorgeous, full-bodied Chardonnay from one of the best Chardonnay vineyards in California.
