Langetwins Viognier Clarksburg 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

Aromas of peach and pear combine with orange blossoms as a welcoming greeting! This enticing aroma travels into the flavor and is enhanced with a silky-smooth texture and mouth watering lime-zest finish. Our Viognier does a great job of melding fruit with light floral notes creating a distinct and refreshing wine!

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

Rather heavy and sweet on the nose, like aging honeysuckles with their blend of pollen and over-ripeness. There’s some vanilla here as well and a nice apricot tone. Fairly taut in the mouth and medium scaled. The balance is attractive as this skates a fine line between richness and freshness. The acid is well integrated and lends support to orange-toned peach fruit. A bit simple but pleasant and then very short on the finish. Very drinkable. 83pts

Creamy pear and banana nose, with kiwi fruit on the palate. Hint of green apples on the finish. Very fruit driven, but not too acidic.

A little grassy smelling, with that added rain humidity feel. Smells like summer.
