Lang & Reed Cabernet Franc Napa Valley 2010
This is cabernet franc is a lite, fruity wine. The tannins are light. There is a hint of pepper with the berry. The finish was very clean. We had this while eating at a a variety of foods. It did not overpower any of the various dishes we tasted. An excellent choice.

Lang and Reed Cabernet Franc is a NapaCabs favorite - very pleasant cherry and ripe red raspberry fruit character with notes of sage, tobacco, and leather. This wine shows excellent balance between fruit, tannin, and acidic structure.
The 2009 North Coast Cabernet Franc has a bright, clear and brilliant red color rimmed in youthful violet-blue. Sweet cherry, herb and spice aromatics push forward accented with lightly toasted top notes. The flavors call forth bright cherry fruit and a m lange of dried herbs - all with a beguiling softness that begs for another glass. This is a wine to be shared and enjoyed between family and friends!
The flavors are a mix of sweet cherries and blueberries with a faint cedar sweetness and spice. The finish has a good, crisp 'cherry pit' acidity with nice fruit tannin to support a lengthy finish.
The Lang & Reed winery was started in 1996 and is one of the few wineries to make 100% Cabernet Franc wines. This is considered their accessible, early release Cab Franc and it's amazingly fruit driven with violets and nice tannins.
At first inky and bitter as cherry skin, this opens with air to reveal an intriguing floral scent. The texture smoothes out and draws to a fuller cherry fruit. Decant this if you open it soon, or cellar it for a few years to bring the fruit forward.
A hearty Franc, inside-out, with smoky, leathery, stalky and beefy berry aromas that morph into rich, earthy, dusty currant and new shoe leather flavors, right down to the chewy tannins in the finish. Best from 2003 through 2010.
