This was an enjoyable garnet color wine with hints of red pepper and black cherry. It had good tannins and a long finish.

Winemaker's Notes:

"Lanessan's 2001...is a seriously-extracted, dark ruby/purple-colored offering with ripee cassis fruit, notes of leather and earth, and a hint of truffles. Medium-bodied, pure, and savory, with copious tannin, it will age well for 10-15 years." WA 4/02.
