This was a fascinating Syrah for me, as over the typical syrah red berries & spice, I got the distinct sensation of pot roast. I could smell the slightly burnt drippings in the pan, with roasted carrots and even onions (they were delicious pot roast onions, don't worry). Pair with pot roast, I guess!

"deep ruby color. perfumed aromas of spicy red and dark berries, baking spices and incense. lush, silky and sweet, with nicely delineated raspberry, blackberry and floral pastille flavors. This is showing complexity already." 89 points; Stephen Tanzer's International wine cellar (May/June 2008)

Wine Tasting NotesRipe plum, black fruits and violet aromas mingle with fermentation aromas to yield a Hoisin sauce, white pepper aspect which is also complemented by sweetness from oak. Good tannin structure and ample acidity will enable this Syrah to pair with a wide range of hearty winter fare, such as stewed and braised meats, as well as tomato based sauced and savory herbs.
