Damaris Deere Ford, great-great-granddaughter of John Deere, relocated Landmark Vineyards from Windsor to a spectacular piece of land at the base of Sugarloaf Mountain in the Sonoma Valley. Landmark Steel Plow Syrah was first produced in 2001 and named in honor of John Deere. It is sourced from the Kivelstadt Vineyard, where Phil Coturri practices organic management. This gorgeous Sonoma Syrah received a rating of 91 points from Stephen Tanzers International Wine Cellar. Only 1600 cases were produced.Landmark Steel Plow Syrah is deep ruby-purple in color with a glorious nose of blackberries, cherries, olives, violets and mineral notes. Full-bodied and intense, it offers rich flavors of dark berries, pepper and spice. It was aged for 14 months in 30% new oak for added complexity.
