Food Pairings for Landmark Chardonnay Russian River Valley Lorenzo
It has a yeasty nose of lemon and lime. Some oak notes. On the palate, it's a lean and crisp chardonnay filled with steely citrus fruit. It has a tart acidity. Finishes on lemon zest. - Tasted at winery Feb 2011
Wine Advocate Review Rated 91 The single-vineyard Chardonnays include the 2006 Chardonnay Lorenzo (a vineyard made famous by Helen Turley at Marcassin). Its light straw color is followed by aromas of honeyed citrus, orange blossom, and white peaches. Crisp, with good acidity, zesty minerality, and a medium to full-bodied finish, it will drink well for 3-4 years. Wine Tasting Notes The distinctive, tightly wound acidity leads to exquisitely focused lemon rind, tangerine and nutty flavors, integrated with sweet, toasty, smoky oak. The Lorenzo is a wine that will age gracefully and promises to develop more complex aromatics with time in the bottle.
