The 2012 Overlook Chardonnay has a golden hue with complex aromas of lemongrass, freshly peeled grapefruit, and honeydew melon. On the palate, white peach, chalk, and lively citrus notes complete this refreshing wine. This wine is ready to drink now, but will continue to develop for 2-3 years. Suggesting Food Pairings: The 2012 Overlook Chardonnay pairs well with whole roasted chicken rubbed with rosemary and lemon zest, grilled red snapper, sashimi, butternut squash ravioli, and summer salads. Native yeast fermentation. Barrel aged in French oak for 10 months. Alcohol 14.3%.

The wine exhibits a golden honey hue with pure Granny Smith apple aromas along with distinctive notes of lime blossom and nutmeg. The mouthfeel is rich and round and unfolds to reveal shortbread and pineapple flavors that linger.

A reliable winery with a realistic pricing policy, one of California's finest Chardonnays for the money is Landmark's Chardonnay Overlook. Attractive aromas of honeyed citrus, tropical fruits, and spices. Excellent acidity, a lovely texture and mouthfeel, and medium body. It represents a hypothetical blend of a classic white Burgundy and a California Chardonnay.
The twenty two separate vineyards that comprise this year's Overlook include such distinguished growers as Sangaciomo, Bien Nacido, Martinelli, and Lorenzo. All the wines in the Overlook bottling are barrel fermented using indigenous yeasts and undergo full malo-latic fermentation. The wine is aged sur lie for nine months in Burgundian barrels and racked to tanks for blending. Robert Parker scored it 90 points and said "One of California’s finest as well as realistically priced Chardonnays is Landmark’s Overlook. The 2006 exhibits classic tropical fruit, orange blossom, and citrus oil aromas along with a subtle whiff of oak in its fragrant, pure bouquet. Excellent acidity, a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, and a stunningly long finish result in a beautiful Chardonnay to enjoy over the next several years."
