Winemakers Notes
2001 Lancaster Estate Red Wine Winemaker's Notes
Grown, crafted and bottled exclusively at our Estate, the 2001 vintage brims with aromas of wild berries, cassis, and violets. Ripe black cherry and chocolate flavors, toasted oak nuances, and supple tannins combine to deliver an incredibly balanced, full-bodied wine. Aging in small French oak barrels (60% new) for 22 months contributed depth and complexity, and the wine was bottled unfiltered and unfined to allow the pure expression of our Estate to shine through. 5,900 cases produced.

What to Expect
The classic Bordeaux blends rely on either Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon for the bulk of the wine with additions of Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec helping to add complexity, color, body and structure to the finished wine.
