Cabenet Sauvignon: Originally of French origins, this versatile grape produces exceptional wines around the globe. It's usually medium to full bodied with a fine structure that supports black and red fruit flavors with typical notes of olive, chili and herbs that add complexity.

Winemakers Notes

Estate grown, produced and bottled, our 2004 has lush ripeness, with deep black cherry and plum characters, accented by lavender and spice. Supportive tannins and layers of complexity extend over the long finish. Aged 22 months in French oak barrels, the wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered, to retain purity of expression.

Lancaster makes an outstanding estate grown blend, and the 2004 was one of the best vintages to date. I love the vanilla that comes through from the french oak. The 2001 Lancaster estate is even better, but getting difficult to find.

Its a gorgeous Cab, softly complex, rich in cassis, cherry, spice and oak flavors anchored with warm, earthy tannins. In fact, the earthiness stands it in good contrast to the Napa Valley, making it wholesome and complete. -Wine Enthusiast

Light red in appearance almost ruby in color. Hints of caramel, vanilla, and smoke on the nose. Delicious fruit flavors from plum up front to a subtle currant towards the end. Very well balanced and tasting excellent right now (10/09)
